Open Gallery is proud to present a new exhibition of video painting.
The Open Prize, designed to celebrate emerging artists working within the video painting medium, brings together intriguing and diverse new video works. The winner will be selected from the short listed group of eight.
This year’s judging panel includes Stuart Croft , Tom Morton, Laura Sillers and Hilary Lawson.
Alongside the Open Prize will be a retrospective spanning the first decade of this video art medium. Showcasing some of the earliest and most innovative pieces to come out of the movement alongside new and previously unscreened works by five gallery artists.
Brand new work by George Barber, Gemma Pardo with her first collection for Open Gallery, new collections from Gabrielle Le Bayon and Alys Williams, and a collection from Jasmina Matwaly, winner of the inaugural Open Prize last year, whose work documents in non-narrative vignettes the Egyptian protests in Freedom Square.
